Rajive Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology(RGCB):-Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow for a DBT funded project on ‘Molecular Evaluation of interactions between sperm membrane RAFs and zona pellucida proteins’ in the laboratory of Dr. G Pradeep Kumar at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have secured first class in all their qualifying examinations. Masters Degree in Biological Sciences is mandatory. Preference will be given to those who have qualified CSIR/UGC-JRF or Lectureship, GATE, DBt-JRF or ICMR-JRF.

AGE : Below 28 years as on 15th July, 2013.

EMOLUMENTS : Rs 16,000/- + 15% HRA for CSIR/UGC – JRF (or equivalent) candidates;
Rs 12,000/- + 15% HRA for others.

DURATION : Seven months or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier).

SELECTION PROCESS: Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview.

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP FOR RESEARCH IN VENOUS DISEASES

Applications are invited from those interested in advanced scientific research on Venous Diseases, for a postdoctoral position in the Cardiovascular Disease Biology Division, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. This fellowship is supported by the Dr. N Radhakrishnan Foundation for Research on Venous Diseases with a purpose of providing advanced research training in “cutting edge” areas of venous disease research. Research proposals on any of the following themes would be considered, although any other clinically relevant themes in venous disease would also be considered.

  1. Venous system development
  2. Developmental anomalies of veins
  3. Cellular aspects of vein remodeling in pathological conditions
  4. Genetic and epigenetic analysis of venous diseases
  5. Developing animal models for venous diseases.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should hold a Ph.D degree in Life Science or M.D. degree in Modern Medicine and a good academic record.

AGE : The applicants should preferably be below the age of 35 years (40 years in case of women candidates) as on 15th August, 2013.

DETAILS OF THE AWARD:
This Postdoctoral fellowship is a purely temporary assignment tenable for a period of 3 years. Fellowship will be as per norms prescribed by the Department of Biotechnology. Continuation of the fellowship during second and third years will subject to evaluation of progress in research.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Senior Research Fellow for a DST funded project entitiled “Comparison of the chemopreventive efficacy of free curcumin and biodegradable polymer based nano curcumin in Benzo[a] pyrene-induced lung carcinogenesis” in the laboratory of Dr. Ruby John Anto at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have M.Sc/M.Tech in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences with at least 60% marks, Should have qualified CSIR-NET/UGC-NET/GATE/Kerala University PhD Entrance Must have at least one publication in International Journal Should have completed at least 2 years of post M.Sc/M.Tech research experience.

AGE : Below 35 years as on 1st July, 2013.
