SBI Clerk Examination 2023 Syllabus, Exam Pattern and Eligibility Criteria

The State Bank of India (SBI) has released a notification for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2023, inviting applications for 8283 posts of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in the Clerical Cadre. The online application process started on 17th November 2023 and will conclude on 10th December 2023. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria, having completed any degree, can apply by the specified deadline. The application fee is Rs. 750 for General/OBC/EWS candidates, while SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/DESM applicants are exempt from fees. Payment can be made online through debit card, credit card, or internet banking. The age limit for applicants is between 20 to 28 years as of 1st April 2023, with applicable age relaxation as per norms. Tentative dates for the Preliminary Exam are set for January 2024, followed by the Mains Exam in February 2024. Eligible candidates are encouraged to read the notification thoroughly before proceeding with their online applications.

SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria

  1. SBI Clerk Age Limit:

    • Minimum Age: 20 years
    • Maximum Age: 28 years
    • Candidates must be born between 02.04.1995 and 01.04.2003 (both days inclusive).
    • Age Relaxation:
      • SC/ST: 5 years
      • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
      • PwBD (Gen/ EWS): 10 years
      • PwBD (SC/ ST): 15 years
      • PwBD (OBC): 13 years
      • Ex-Servicemen/ Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service rendered in defense services + 3 years, (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a maximum age of 50 years
      • Widows, Divorced women, and women judicially separated: 7 years (subject to a maximum age limit of 35 years for General/ EWS, 38 years for OBC & 40 years for SC/ST candidates)
      • Trained Apprentices of SBI: SC/ST – 6 years, OBC – 4 years, GEN/ EWS – 1 year, PwBD (SC/ST) – 16 years, PwBD (OBC) – 14 years, PwBD (Gen/EWS) – 11 years
  2. SBI Clerk Educational Qualification

    • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
    • Candidates in the final year/semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally, provided they pass the graduation examination by 31.12.2023.
    • Matriculate Ex-servicemen with the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after completing not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces, are also eligible.
    • Note:
      • The date of passing eligibility examination will be the date on the mark sheet/certificate or provisional certificate.
      • Matriculate Ex-servicemen certificates should be dated on or before 31.12.2023.
