National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur is one of the National Importance Institutions for Technical Education in India. This was formerly known as Regional Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur is an Institution of National Importance set up by an Act of Parliament (Act 29 of 2007) namely, the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007, which received the assent of the President of India on the 5th June, 2007.

NIT Jamshedpur invites candidates for the posts of Assistants and Junior Engineers through a Walk-In-Interview to be held from 26/07/2013 to 29/07/2013 only on contract basis for one year (purely temporary) with consolidated remuneration of Rs. 25000/- pm for monitoring of various infrastructure projects of the Institute.

i) For Technical Assistants

Educational Qualification: 
Essential:
First class Post-graduate degree in science (M.Sc.) or B.E. / B. Tech. in relevant field from a recognized University / Institute with excellent academic record.

First class Diploma in Engineering in relevant field with excellent academic record.
(OR)
First Class Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in sciences in relevant subject or equivalent subject from a recognized University / Institute with excellent academic record.
Experience:
5 years experience in relevant field.
Desirable:
Experience of in operation and maintenance of equipments of relevant area.
Responsible for repair and maintenance of all the equipments available in the laboratory of the Department and also to assist faculty members in conducting laboratory experiments and in research activities.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years
Scale of pay: Rs. 25,000/- pm (Consolidated)

ii) For Junior Engineers (Civil / Electrical)

Educational Qualification:
Essential:
First class B.E. / B. Tech. in relevant field from a recognized University / Institute with excellent academic record.
(OR)
First class Diploma in Engineering in relevant field with excellent academic record.
Experience:
5 years experience in relevant field.
Desirable:
Proven track record of handling projects / works in reputed organizations of relevant magnitude and qualities.
Experience of working with civil maintenance, planning, construction management and execution of civil engineering works, etc., as relevant to the profession.
Experience of working with electrical maintenance planning and execution of electrical works etc. as relevant to the profession.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years
Scale of pay: Rs. 25,000/- pm (Consolidated)
